Safety
You are meeting someone you do not know yet. Kadam is built so that the safe choice is the easy one, and so that you can leave and report without explaining yourself.
What is built in
- Meeting places are known places. Plans happen at parks, tracks and gyms from a curated list, never at a home address.
- Short and with room for a third. A plan starts at forty-five minutes or less with space for another person, and a third is normal.
- Daylight. If a plan falls in the dark, it says so, with the time the light comes back, and offers a later start.
- A verified number. You cannot join or post until you have verified a mobile number.
- Plans, not profiles. There is no swiping and no way to express interest in a person, only in a plan.
- You can leave, block and report in two taps. The other person is never told it was you.
Before you go
- Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.
- Take your phone, and keep the plan in the app: it shows who is coming.
- If you can, bring a friend, or ask for a third person.
- Trust your own judgement. You never need a reason to say no, to leave, or to move on without someone.
If something goes wrong
- In danger or injured: call 112.
- Afterwards: report the person in the app, or write to dsa@getkadam.com. A person reads every report.
- You were not sure: after a session, “something felt off” is private, is not a report, and helps us notice patterns.
What we cannot do
Kadam introduces people. It cannot see what happens at a session, and it does not guarantee anyone’s behaviour. What it can do is make the careful option the default, and act when we are told.
