About Kadam

What is Kadam?

Kadam finds you a training partner who runs your pace, on your days, near you, and helps the two of you keep turning up. It is in a closed test in Amsterdam, running first.

Is it a dating app?

No. There is no swiping and no browsing of people: you express interest in a plan, never in a person. Romantic or sexual advances end an account, and a person reads every report. The terms say exactly what happens.

How does it work?

You tell Kadam the pace you run, the days you can and where. It shows you plans other people have posted that fit, and the few people who run your pace. You ask to join a plan, and the person who posted it says yes or no. Then you turn up, and so do they.

Which sports, and where?

Running, in Amsterdam, to begin with. Cycling and the gym come once running works well in a place.

Is there an Android app?

Not yet. Kadam is for iPhone first.

Joining and what it costs

Do I have to be fast?

No. You say the pace you really run, and Kadam only shows you plans and people that fit it.

Is it free?

In the closed test, yes. Finding people, the filters, asking to join, verifying your number and every safety feature are free, and will not be put behind a payment. There are no ads and nothing is sold. If Kadam ever charges, it will be for extras for people who train together a lot, or for tools for the people who organise runs, and we will say so before we do.

What if nobody near me uses it yet?

Kadam opens one place at a time, and a place opens when enough people there have asked for it. If yours is not open, write to hello@getkadam.com and say where. We count every request.

Who can use Kadam?

Adults. You must be 18 or over, with one account in your own name and a mobile number that is yours. You verify the number once, before you join or post your first plan.

Safety and privacy

Who can see what about me?

For example, other people see your first name, the pace you run, the places you train and, if you add one, a small photo. The exact meeting point of a plan, and the names on it, are shown only to the person who posted it and the people on it.

What happens to my training details?

Your pace, goals and the places you train are used to match you, and for nothing else. You agree to that separately, before anything is stored, and you can withdraw it at any time. In the app you can download a copy of what Kadam holds about you, and delete your account. The privacy policy has the detail.

How do I report or block someone?

In the app, open the person, message or photo and choose “Report a problem”. It takes two taps and nothing needs writing. The other person is never told it was you. If you do not have an account, see Support.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, in Settings. The delete-account page shows where, and what to do if you no longer have the app.

Clubs, coaches and gyms

Can my club, group or gym use Kadam?

Yes, and we would like to hear from you. See For clubs.
